It's just... too easy. They're just doing all of those cool things that car makers want to do, but can't because it would hurt sales. Except Tesla can get away with it because people want and expect absurdity from them.
It's just like Apple, marketing products at insane markup for features that would ruin any other computer company, but still makes money because people expect to pay that much and willingly do it.

Remember how much trouble Tesla had getting the pop out door handles to work right on the Model S? I can't image the nightmares these doors will bring. Tesla engineers have my sympathy.
